Automotive Technology: Designed to give instruction in safety, measurement, basic automotive service, brakes, and electrical service.
Construction:Designed to teach thefundamentals of safety, tools, and math. It also teaches basic carpentry, electrical, masonry, and plumbing skills.
Information Technology:Designed to teach students will the skills necessary to prepare for CompTIA certification exams. Students will learn how to develop, support, and integrate computing systems, acquire network planning, management skills, and provide technical support.
Medical: Students in this field will be introduced to careers available in the health field, basic anatomy and physiology, and basic patient care skills. The student will be trained to be an entry-level general basic health care assistant and trained in CPR and first aid. The student will receive many of lessons to use in everyday life and also in their careers. The student will be be able to make an informed choice of a health occupation that he/she plans to pursue.
Teacher Academy:Designed to attract students into the field of education, to provide information and field experiences relevant to pursuing a degree in education, and to prepare students for the rigors of a career in education so they will remain long-term educators.
Welding:Designed to prepare students for entry level employment in the field of welding and fabrication; they will complete study in occupational orientation and safety, basic, math, introduction to blueprints, hand and power tools, oxy/fuel operations, and shielded arc welding. Each student will receive many of lessons to use in everyday life and also in their careers.
Instrumentations and Controls: The Instrumentation and Controls Program is the first of it’s kind at the high school level in Mississippi. On behalf of JCCTC, we are proud to be selected as the career and technical center to launch this pro- gram at the Jackson County Technology Center.
